In Feb 2007 we moved from Adams Morgan to Monarch Beach. It's different, very much so. So, if you like, check back and witness our transformation from urbanites to beach bums. |

I found this pic today and thought of Frost. Not much of a leap, I know, but I thought it was a kewl pic and decided to post it. You know what they say, right? A zig zag line looked at from a far distance appears as a straight line. There's no point to this, no underlying message. I jus liked the pic.
I was reading a story in Flappers & Philosophers this morning and came across 2 quotes that I've known for, probably, 10 years. Has anyone ever had a better command of English? You might not find his stories to be the most interesting (i do), but even the most unaffected person can't accuse his writing of being prosaic. It's almost like poetry written as prose. Not these particular quotes, mind you, but, oh whatever, no one cares.
I can't wait until I can introduce FSF to little Mariano. Anyway, take these with you, organize your life around them:
"The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function."
- FSF
"Either you think, or else others have to think for you and take power from you, pervert and discipline your natural tastes, civilize and sterilize you."
- FSF
