Six months of preliminaries ended Sunday. Tonight the serious part of the Yankees' season begins when the Yankees face the Angels in Game 1 of the ALDS at Angel Stadium.

Thanks to George Steinbrenner's mandate that a World Series victory is the only definition of a successful season, Yankee fans have fallen in lockstep with The Boss.
