In Feb 2007 we moved from Adams Morgan to Monarch Beach. It's different, very much so. So, if you like, check back and witness our transformation from urbanites to beach bums. |

119 Holiday Party: Suggestions Sought |
Thursday, December 08, 2005 |
Jill, Max, Mama & I are throwing a party at the 119 on Saturday, December 17th. The Evite has gone out and now we're on to putting together a list of treats. We decided to forego the dinner party thang and focus our efforts on cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. BTW: In my mind the party will look exactly as the picture on the left does. I'm seeking advice on cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. I've hit Food network's page and they have some perty cool ideas, but I'm looking for some more. So, can any of you peoples recommend a drink or dish that will add to our guests' enjoyment? Simple, difficult, whatever. It's not like we're going to set out a punch bowl and some crackers, we do have some ideas. We all know More is Better, so please let me know of any ideas that come to mind. If you're reading this and didn't receive the Evite, please disregard this post. It must be some sorta blog spam type- thing because there is no Holiday Party at the 119 on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 7:00p. |

Even though I am NOT invited to this Holiday EXTRAVIGANZA I have a few recomendations... First you want food that aren't "poppers" meaning your guests can't eat them in one bite. This will save you money. I've never thrown a party like this, but I've wanted to so I actually have a list of websites for food and drink...

Oh sure, invite April but no me. Thanks, I thought we were friends!

Janelle, of course you're invited. Now how about some ideas for refreshments?
-
hows about something mint-chocolate for later in the evening after most of the food is gone.... like mint chocholate martinis... they are really good and easy and classic. you have to have some wine, thats like a must with the kind of aps your looking at.
